Born
and raised in The Netherlands, Marc Eijkelenboom
became proficient in playing bass guitar early on
and performed in a variety of pubs and bars in and
around Amsterdam. It didn't take long for him to
realize that his true passion for music was best
expressed in the studio environment, especially
the control room, where he would practice
his techniques for many hours.
In 2006, Marc moved to the tropical island of Saint
Martin and began his career in the recording industry
by attending local recording workshops. Whenever
possible, he would intern at different local studios,
always increasing his skill set. It didn't
take long for him to become an assistant at a studio,
which shortly thereafter led to his being promoted
to junior recording engineer. This he continued
for two years before he moved to Toronto with the
hopes of landing a position at a larger scale facility.
During a lengthy internship at Phase One, Marc displayed
his acquired experience and first class Pro Tools
talent. He quickly caught on to the Phase One method
and felt comfortable with any task he was assigned.
Thus it was no surprise that as of May 2009, Marc
was hired as a full time employee at Phase One and
he is excited to be in a professional environment
where it is not uncommon to be working with world
class engineers and high profile clients. He is
a hard working, skilled assistant engineer
with an easy to get along with personality,
all requisites for a lasting career in the recording
industry.
In 2007 Marc won the Dutch Music Aid Award for best
production of 2007.
